This year marked the 4th year that we have been doing our annual Boucherie. The Boucherie was the first event that we ever did as Inspired Occasions and because of that has a very special place in our hearts. The idea behind the Boucherie is to have a selection of San Antonio’s top chefs cook a pig from snout to tail at the farm the pig was raised. They use the meat to create dishes for brunch, a taco break, and a Sunday supper. Guests can watch the chefs demonstrate their cooking techniques throughout the day as they cook- mostly using open fires. We provide our guests with 2 meals and a taco break. For the two meals we set up a long row of tables right outside the barn so our guests can sit in a picturesque setting while eating.
Ashley at Vintage Heart Farm did our flowers this year. We gave her an assortment of tin cans, bottles, and mason jars and she filled them with flowers picked fresh from her garden that morning.
Brunch is the first meal of the day and starts at 11am. We serve this as a chef attended buffet line with fresh farm eggs cooked to order, grits and grillades, pozole, breakfast sausage, and fire baked buttermilk biscuits.
This year we featured coffee from Rosella, a local coffee shop.
We were also fortunate enough to be sponsored by Alamo Beer, a local brewery. They provided an assortment of beers and even sent their brew master to talk about the different varieties that they offer.
During brunch we had a Michelada bar set-up, featuring Alamo Beer of course!
Knob Creek was another sponsor of the Boucherie. They provided Bourbon which Javi Gutierrez from Bexar Pub used to create a cocktail.
After brunch our guests could either wander among the chefs for a variety of cooking demos or they could relax under the giant tree and listen to music and watch from afar. Below are some pictures of our chefs preparing their dishes.
At Mid-Day we did a taco break that consisted of- fresh corn tortillas, ancho glazed pork belly, lengua picada sopes, loin milanesa, slaw, and Humble House Hot Sauces.
A new addition to this year’s boucherie was live music. We hired a wonderful band called National Standard, they played for the entire day and really helped to create a festive atmosphere.
We used the same farm that we have used the past two years- Vintage Heart Farm. Below are Roger and Ashley, the owners of the farm.

The grand finale of the day is the Sunday Supper. This year’s menu included:

One of this year’s hottest party color combinations is pink and gold. We had the pleasure of creating the decor for this Twinkle Twinkle Little Star 1st birthday party in shades of this popular trend.
Guests were welcomed by a large balloon bouquet and a fun chalkboard sign at the gate entrance.
Once they entered the gate, there was additional pathway decor leading attendees to the front door. We created these lantern columns and customized a gold poster topper for each column.
In addition to the lantern columns, we lined the pathway to the front door with gold stars in variations of shiny and sparkly and embellished with pink curly ribbon. It was a festive way to welcome the guests.
The party hostess gave us mason jars to use for centerpieces and we created these fun themed decorations that perfectly matched the theme. Variations of clouds, stars, moons, 1s and Ks were crafted from scrapbook paper for these adorable displays.
Our party hostess had several table cloths in shades of pink and gold and then we added table runners and glittery gold stars to embellish the table setting.
The wish jar was a fun way for guests to send a personalized message to the birthday girl. Guests wrote wishes for the birthday girl on the stars and then placed in the jar. A keepsake booklet was later created with these stars.
The balcony of the main party room was adorned with fluffy pink tissue flowers and several gold stars in various patterns and designs.
Other decor items for this party included photos of the birthday girl and glittery stars strategically placed around the home.
We also decorated the gift table with fun star cutouts to liven up the area.
Next we will take a closer look at the dessert table area. We love the sparkly display and whimsical accents for this theme.
The highchair was daintily decorated with pink and gold tulle with a fun ONE banner and a bouquet of balloons that provided the perfect backdrop for a smash cake photo session.
The sequined backdrop was lined with puffy white tissue clouds at the top and large patterned stars and balloons on the sides. The desserts were provided by our client.
Our custom “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” banner in two shades of pink was an excellent contrast to the gold backdrop.
The last aspect of our dessert table that we would like to feature is the glittery centerpieces. The designs matched our table centerpieces and we kicked it up a notch with specialty cardstock.
The party guests enjoyed a fun afternoon of pony rides. We love the braids and curly ribbon on the pony to match the party color scheme.
Recently we have had a lot of requests for baby showers so we wanted to share the pictures from this party- it was one of the first parties that we ever did! The yellow and gray color scheme works very well for a gender neutral shower. Although this shower was for a baby boy, the color scheme could work just as well for a girl.
We did a food table with desserts and light bites since the party was early afternoon.
The cupcakes were decorated with various paper cut outs that match the theme. Since the baby’s name began with a “T” we included personalized toppers with his initial.
We saw these online and just had to recreate. There were three different donut cakes- one with glazed, one with chocolate dipped, and powdered sugar donuts. We can’t think of a cuter way to combine breakfast and dessert!
No shower is complete without a watermelon baby display! This one has a baby made out of a cantaloupe.
We made scones with lemon curd, devonshire cream, and home made jam. There were also ham and cheese tea sandwiches.
The backdrop to the food table was crafted from yellow and silver tissue flowers. Since the display was outdoors, we created a grid of white curling ribbon to attach the flowers to so they wouldn’t shift in the wind.
The top of the backdrop consisted of several paper-crafted baby themed designs which provided an adorable festive border.
A guest of the shower created these fun diaper cakes for additional decor. Aren’t they the cutest?
Finally, we will take a closer look at the mason jar centerpieces. Lemon drops provided a great pop of color for our paper crafted designs.
We started 2017 off with a Great Gatsby Masquerade themed party at Sunset Station. The evening’s festivities began with a dinner and then transitioned to a dance party and ended with an after party at Sam’s Burger Joint. We decorated the dinner and dance party and then coordinated lighting for the after party. It was indeed a grand evening full of elegance and fun!
Here is an overview of the dinner venue. We coordinated the event lighting in addition to the centerpieces and decor.
Since alcohol was not served at the event, we decorated the bar area which you will see at the far end of this picture.
Here is a close up of the bar decor. We lined the bar with a black boa and embellished with gold champagne bottles, white feathers, pearls, masks and candles.
The dining area also featured a personalized gobo created especially for this event.
Next we will take a look at the table decor. Each table had a centerpiece and masks for place settings.
Since this event was for a date night, we had a pearl necklace and glittery mask for the ladies and a black simple mask for the gentlemen.
Our centerpieces had several varieties of candle holder embellishments as well as votive holders. You will notice the same basic design in all centerpieces but subtle variations in ribbons and trim.
Another Gatsby inspired decoration included the table numbers which you will see in this photo.
The head table had the most extravagant table decor. From the sequinned table runner to the tall feathery centerpiece, this was our favorite!
The vase was filled with loose pearls which hid a submersible purple-hued light.
In the center of the vase we hung a crystal which reflected the purple lighting. The full display of feathers and decorative mask added the perfect touch to the theme.
Now we will take a look at the dance party venue. Depot 1 at Sunset Station is a grand setting but the guests wanted more of an intimate feel so we added these string lights to the balcony.
Our lighting vendor also placed purple uplighting on the columns. The venue lighting transformed the space into a fantastic party setting.
Since this event did not have any alcohol served, we decorated the bar similarly to the dinner venue with boas, pearls, champagne bottles, feathers and candles.
The party hostesses wanted a fun and festive backdrop for the band. In this photo, you will notice the gold and black fringe curtain behind the band.
Lastly, you will see the the personalized gobo displayed on the dance floor.

This Princess Sophia themed first birthday party was held at one of the local parks. There was a really nice pavilion- which worked out great because the weather didn’t really cooperate that day!
We decorated the ceiling of the pavilion with gold and purple lanterns and tissue poms. It was a fun way to brighten up the space.
We also used purple plastic table covers in two shades to add depth to the color palate.
Our simple princess inspired centerpieces were perfect for this outdoor party. The purple tulle poms added a fun texture to the paper-crafted “1” and princess crown display.
We also did a dessert table as a focal point to the party. The backdrop was crafted from pink and purple tulle. We adore the daintiness the backdrop brought to the overall display. We used a purple pin-tuck tablecloth with a gold sequin runner for the table and then added serving dishes that matched the color scheme. Our clients contracted a balloon vendor to create the columns and Sophia character near the table.
