Attention all mermaids – here is a fabulous party! This party was so much fun to create and set up. We placed a sign at the front door so that all party attendees would be welcomed in a festive way. Once guests entered the home, we had an even more festive entrance to the party room. Balloon bubble strands aligned an underwater hallway where jellyfish and bubbles swayed in the air. Here is a look up into the hallway from the floor. The jelly fish were created by using paper lanterns, streamers and plastic tablecloths. Here are a few more photos to show the details. The bubble strands were created using various colored card stock cut into 2 inch circles and hot glued on fishing twine. In addition to the paper lantern jelly fish and bubbles, we also used green crepe paper and various sea creature cut outs to complete the “Under the Sea” atmosphere. We also decorated the party room with streamers and sea creature cut outs. Here is a closer look at this decor. Other decor that we created were centerpieces using rock candy, sand and fish cut outs. The dessert table was a fabulous hit! We used a purple pintuck tablecloth with an aqua runner. The cake was the centerpiece and favors provided a festive background. Here is a closer view of the cake. Each fin was hand made and dusted with …… The shark watermelon display is one of our favorites. Just look at those pearly whites! You will also notice the small mermaid centerpiece in the background holding a “5”. We created this for the birthday girl and thought it was a great addition to the tablescape. We also adore these fun little crab croissants. It is a fun addition to every beach/sea themed party. The gold Oreo cookies in the treasure chest were a must for our hostess. Ariel would have been ecstatic to find these in the ocean. No Little Mermaid party would be complete without ocean water, right? “Mermaid Munch” consisted of colored popcorn in adorable little boxes. And last but not least, here are the favors. In the beach pail, we included a small beach ball, shovels and rakes for sand, bubbles and a rice krispie treat starfish.
